Doc Jimenez is an orthopaedic surgeon and assistant professor at Emory University outside of Atlanta, GA. She is originally from New Jersey and daughter to immigrant parents who came from Cuba. Additionally, she is the first Latina and osteopathic trained orthopaedic surgeon to join Women Orthopedist Global Outreach (WOGO) team, which globally empowers women physically and intellectually. Following residency at Rowan University, she completed her orthopedic sports fellowship at Washington University of St. Louis. She specializes in arthroscopy, knee arthroplasty, and trauma.
Not only is she the real deal in the operating room, she excels on the mats as well. She is a jiu-jitsu brown belt and took gold at the 2021 IBJJF Master Worlds and 2022 Master Pans. As a ringside doctor (certified by the Association of Ringside Physicians), she can be seen as the doc at various fights in Georgia and Alabama. So not only does she know what she’s talking about medically, but she fully understands fight culture and mentality.
